3is project at the Regional Erasmus+ Cluster Meeting and Contact-Making Seminar 2025 for Sub-Saharan Africa
From May 20 to 21, 2025, the 3is project, represented by Yenesew Belew, joined the Regional Erasmus+ Cluster Meeting and Contact-Making Seminar at Addis Ababa University in Ethiopia. This hybrid event brought together over 150 in-person and additional online participants, including representatives from universities, NGOs, government ministries, and youth networks from across Sub-Saharan Africa and Europe.
The seminar was organized by the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Education, Youth, Sport and Culture (DG EAC), the European Education and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA), and the National Erasmus+ Office of Ethiopia, in collaboration with the African Union and other regional stakeholders. Participants explored Erasmus+ priorities for Sub-Saharan Africa, covering higher education, technical and vocational education and training, youth mobility, and green and digital transitions while also engaging in networking and partnership building.
For the 3is project, the event marked a significant milestone in broadening its impact and building new connections. The team enhanced the project’s visibility and engaged in strategic networking, establishing valuable contacts with EU partners and universities across Sub-Saharan Africa. Discussions with the National Erasmus+ Focal Points of Ethiopia and EURAXESS Africa also opened avenues to integrate the outcomes of the 3is project at both national and continental levels.
